I am an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force.
After suffering a back injury while serving on active duty, I was medically separated from the military in 2015. Unfortunately, my military service not only led to my back injury, but also led to a broken spirit. I’ve been in the emotional trenches of mental health struggles myself and know first hand what it takes to find your place in the world again (it takes a lot of dedication and a slightly warped sense of humor in case you’re wondering).
I started this private practice because I want to be an agent of change. We all deserve accessible mental health care that doesn’t just put a band aid over a gaping emotional wound, but delivers deeper soul healing.
When I’m not on my soapbox about any mental health issue, you can find me busting out a cringe-worthy dance move, ruining the lyrics to every song on the radio, or spoiling my pride and joy, Dexter (my dog).

I am an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army.
After serving 12 years in the United States Army, various combat injuries and poor mental health led to a medical retirement in 2016. I struggled greatly with the loss of identity while searching for purpose and meaning. With the help of others, I worked through my own mental health, finding purpose and meaning again. More importantly, I found a new identity in being of service to others and walking with them on their journey.
I joined this private practice because I want to help make substantial changes in our communities. We all deserve the opportunity to heal and be healthy. Past traumatic experiences can have a lasting impact if not appropriately addressed. These experiences can cause anxiety, depression, guilt, shame, and even negative beliefs about yourself and the world you live in. I am here to help you sort through those experiences.
During my career as a clinician, I have discovered my love for working with children, as well. Using elements of play therapy, I work with kids so they can develop emotional regulation skills and build vital resiliency as they grow.
When I am not talking about mental health, I am with my children telling some amazing dad jokes, using awesome 90’s words like dope and rad, or singing anything from Slipknot to the latest Miley Cyrus jam.

Treatment Specializations: Children and Adolescents
Primary Modalities: Play Therapy & Humanistic

I am a military spouse and the mother of four wonderful children.
During the past 16 years of motherhood I struggled to find my place in this world trying to strike a balance between motherhood and a career. This was an enormous hurdle given the fact my husband was active duty military the entire time. It took me years to find who I was amidst it all, and at times it was messy. I am not standing here today saying it was easy, but it was worth it. I know I am going to keep continuing to grow and learn and be the best version of myself.
I decided that it was time I used my experiences to help those struggling as well, regardless of what that was for them. I saw the growth inside myself, and I knew I wanted to help people and facilitate growth in them while walking beside them.
I joined this practice because I believe in being a part of something beautiful and productive. This practice embodies authenticity and a safe space for any person, and, with the right paperwork, aliens from outer space. (They have problems too, right?)
When I am not trying to change the world you can find me talking to my tortoise Larry, telling him jokes that my kids will not laugh at. You might find me dancing the night away while I also crack jokes that only I find amusing, followed by thrifting while I formulate my next dad joke.

I am an advocate for veteran mental health and the mother of two beautiful children
After repeatedly finding myself changing paths from where I thought life was supposed to be taking me, I felt incredibly unsure of my purpose and identity. Even after becoming a mother to two amazing children, I couldn’t figure out what was missing or why I just couldn’t “get it”. With support, I eventually discovered that the compass I should have been navigating by the entire time was the one within myself. As someone who has felt lost and hopeless many times, I am no stranger to the transformation that opening up to another human and being truly vulnerable can bring to our lives. Sometimes when we fall down, we need someone to help us get up, dust off, and get back to ourselves.

I am an advocate for veteran mental health and a general badass
I decided to become a counselor because in the darkest moments of my life I found myself lost, alone, and completely hopeless. I was fortunate to have found a beacon of hope in my own counselor, who undoubtedly saved my life. It was because of my own journey that I became passionate about mental health counseling. It is a privilege and an honor to witness my clients’ courage, resilience, and commitment to change.
I view my role as a therapist as a partnership, where I am here to guide and support my clients as they explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My goal is to empower my clients to develop the skills and insights necessary to lead happy and fulfilling lives, even after therapy has ended. I believe that the work that we do together has the potential to create lasting change and to help individuals reach their full potential.
From the very beginning, I was drawn to the Sovereign Soul team because of the commitment to providing excellent care for their clients. I wanted to work alongside badass clinicians who share my passion for accessible therapy services for the community. I feel privileged to be a therapist, and I am constantly inspired by the transformative power of therapy. I am committed to providing my clients with the support, guidance, and expertise they need to achieve their goals and to live their best lives.
When I’m not working with clients I find myself laughing at my own jokes, more than anyone else. Listening to whatever music calls to my soul that day or cracking open one of my many hoarded books. I enjoy getting outside and exploring the beautiful state of Colorado with my furry sidekick, Lenny, and nourishing my spirit and body with movement, patience and gratitude. I look forward to the connection and healing we can make together.

I am an advocate for first responder mental health and all around pretty rad
My mental health journey was guided by a few VIPs who showed me, sometimes pushed me, towards the way out of darkness. Their warmth, empathy, honesty, and loyalty inspired my approach to therapy. I strive to embody these qualities, creating an environment built on trust, understanding, and authenticity.
I am deeply committed to supporting first responders through their unique challenges and individuals who are victims (survivors!) of crimes. My focus lies in addiction recovery and trauma therapy, providing a haven for those who serve our communities and members of our wider community.
Because of my experience as a co-responder and previous experience as a jail-based clinician, I can deeply empathize with the mental health struggles faced by first responders. Witnessing the toll of addiction and trauma, and how uncomfortable it can feel to access mental health support through an employer, sparked my fire to offer services in a private practice setting.
My goal is to give back what was once offered to me, guiding clients toward resilience, empowerment, and renewed hope. Together we can capitalize on your strengths and work towards healing.

I am an advocate for veteran mental health and a family member of those who served
After years of navigating challenges with substance use throughout my adolescent and young adult life, I found myself isolated both socially and emotionally. In many ways I felt as though I was simply drifting through life without a sense of purpose, lacking a true appreciation of who I was or what I had to offer this world. Through the support of another, I discovered how powerful connection was in fostering belief in myself and recognized that I could persevere through hardship to reach deeper levels of personal understanding. These experiences have shown me how someone can serve as our strength in times when we want nothing more than to give up. I am dedicated to serving others as they face down the darkest parts of themselves and to being the person who reaches out a hand and says, “I got you.”
I value being genuine with my clients as they share their pain and celebrate their successes. Moments like these remind me of our shared humanness and the importance of making meaning of our experiences. I firmly believe that it takes strength to not let our experiences define us and that we are all capable of taking agency over our lives as we work toward liberation from limiting beliefs about ourselves and the world that no longer serve us.
Sovereign Soul’s values of autonomy, authenticity and acceptance align with how I view people on a foundational level. I think that these are key ingredients in forming meaningful connections both within the therapeutic relationship and in the community at large. I am honored to contribute to the creation of an inclusive environment that empowers individuals in their efforts to find themselves and create lasting change in their lives.
In my time away from the office I am a dedicated dog dad and enjoy anything that keeps me moving, whether that’s shooting some hoops or trying to make a name for myself on the amateur pickleball circuit.

First of all, thank you for being here. Choosing to take steps on the journey of counseling and personal growth is a bold, transformative, and truly incredible decision. Embarking on the journey of counseling and personal growth can feel daunting, especially when it involves addressing your mental health. Whether it’s your first time seeking support or you’re returning for another round of self-exploration, I want to warmly welcome you. My approach to counseling is to walk alongside you—providing compassionate support, offering honest and direct feedback, and holding space for both the victories and the struggles. Together, we will face the challenges head-on, focusing on your emotional well-being to guide you toward the mental and emotional balance you seek.
My journey into this field wasn’t defined by one pivotal moment, but rather by a series of life experiences that led me to seek counseling for my own mental health over 12 years ago. This personal experience means I’m no stranger to the complexities of the healing process. Through my own growth, I discovered my purpose: to help others navigate their mental health and find a sense of peace.
