How do I know if I need to see a counselor?
-
-
- If you’re asking yourself this, chances are you already know in your gut that you might need some help sorting through something you’re going through. Friends and family are helpful, but you might feel like you’re not really getting anywhere. This is where counseling can help. A counselor can help you see things from a new perspective and help you get to the root cause.

I’ve tried counseling before and I didn’t like it. Is counseling right for me?
-
-
- We firmly believe counseling can be right for anyone. The aspect that predicts if you will benefit from counseling most is the therapeutic relationship you have with your counselor. If you don’t like your therapist, or don’t feel like they “get you,” chances are you won’t get much from therapy and might write therapy off completely.
Whether or not you choose to seek counseling services at SSC, we encourage you to not give up hope and instead keep looking for a therapist until you find someone you really like! Don’t be afraid to ask your therapist questions to gauge if THEY are the right fit for YOU.
