get to know us

hi there, i’m
malaya hall
MA, LPCC
I am a veteran spouse and mother
Let’s be honest, playground games of MASH didn’t exactly set me up for success the way I thought it would. I always imagined my life as a wife and a mom, but I didn’t anticipate that getting there would include things like life after combat with my Veteran husband, challenging pregnancies, or raising semi-feral children. The universe has had a funny way of pushing me in ways I didn’t imagine, but ultimately it has led me here to this moment with you. Through my own struggles, moments of feeling completely lost, and general tomfoolery throughout my life, I know what it’s like to question your place in the world, to wrestle with self-doubt, and to wonder if things will ever feel okay again. (Spoiler: They do, but it takes work, a little grace, and maybe a well-timed sarcastic joke or two.)
I truly believe in the power of authenticity—because let’s be honest, life isn’t always Instagram worthy. Therapy shouldn’t be about slapping a band-aid on deep wounds or pretending everything is fine when it’s not. It should be a space where you can show up exactly as you are—raw, real, and ready (or sometimes not-so-ready) to do the work. I’m here to walk alongside you, to help you make sense of the chaos, and to remind you that healing isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about reconnecting with who you’ve always been.
When I’m not diving into therapy, you’ll probably find me herding kittens (aka my children), cleaning my house to songs I used to hear at college parties, spending time with people I love, or listening to an audiobook and doing a puzzle. I believe in balance—meaningful work that leaves a lasting impact and honoring the things that bring carefree joy.
Realness, challenging you with kindness, and celebrating your wins (no matter how small) — it’s giving… therapy with me. So let’s figure this out together, see you soon!
